XEN XN-Client for VServers
Overview
The xnCORE - xn-client is a service that has to be runned on all virtual machines which will be monitored by xnCORE - xn-mon or which will have memory assigned by xnCORE - xn-mem. Without the xnCORE - xn-client the required runtime data can not be aquired. The xnCORE - xn-client is a very small service which requires not much memory or processing time. Its available for most popular Linux distributions. Contact us if the xnCORE - xn-client is not yet available for the distribution used at your site. We will provide you with the required version.
How it works
The xnCORE - xn-client will read data like cpu counter, memory distribution and usage, disk io, load and other data required for operation and control on the virtual server. This data is beeing written to memory in the Xenstore which the virtual server is allowed to write to. The xnCORE - xn-mon-daemon reads that data on the physical system Dom0 and creates statistics and graphes from it. The xnCORE - xn-mem-daemon reads that data too and uses it to assign the memory to the virtual server.
